In Ancient Greek mythology, the horn of plenty came from the goat Amalthea, who nursed baby Zeus while he was in hiding. The horn is a symbol of abundance and nourishment. The change to greenhorn is to modestly emphasise I'm no expert at any of the above points; I'm just doing things I love and sharing them here. Perhaps they can bring the same pleasure to others as they have to me, whether it's a book, or a recipe.
